Sometimes a crab can be a result

They were not the best conditions, cold easterly under a bright sky, but as I had a chance to escape work for a few hours on a daytime spring tide, I thought I would give it a go just to see if there was anything about.

Walked to my mark and was soon lowering a small joey on a freelined rig really close to a groyne, and sat back to enjoy the warmth of the sun on my face. Conditions were lovely as I looked across the small harbours entrance, and despite knowing that my chances were very slim I was pleased I had made it out for the first trip of the year.

The last time I was here I watched a small racing dinghy land on the slipway with great difficulty. It seemed this was all very new to the sailor, but a short while later I was admiring the way he took immense pride in storing his boat in the small sailing club yard. He spent ages tightening and retightening the cover until it was just right. It looked like the boat hadn't been used again for the whole of the winter.

A few hours later I packed up for home. Nothing to report apart from a small crab which according to a passer-by was a result. I smiled all the way back to the car.
